Jessica Scott Romano

Jessica A. Scott, author and founder of Tuxtails Publishing, writes under her married name, Jessica Scott Romano. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she has been reading and writing stories since she was three years old. She graduated from the University of Louisville in 2011 with degrees in English and Humanities with minors in Literature, Linguistics, and Classical and Modern Languages.

After reading far too many books about grand adventures in faraway places, she was inspired to go on a few of her own. She now lives in Italy with her husband and two cats, where she spends her days writing, publishing, traveling, and sampling every delicious dish the country has to offer.

She is the author of numerous novels and books, including Love and Squalor, How to Be an American in Italy, and the Captain Jenkins series.

Caroline Taylor

Caroline Taylor is a novelist and short-story writer who grew up in the mountain west and traveled widely, including a brief stint in the Foreign Service. A former publications manager and editor of Humanities magazine, she is the author of several mystery novels, one short-story collection, and a nonfiction book. Two of her novels won the Firebird Book award, and a third was a finalist for the Freddie Award. A member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime, she lives in North Carolina.

Her mystery novel, Beautiful in Death, was published by Tuxtails Publishing in May 2023.

ROSE WALKER

After a career in university press publishing, Rose Walker has retired to live up a mountain in the El Dorado Hills of Northern California’s Sierra Nevada, where she writes her romances. As a child, she lived in Gallup, New Mexico during World War II. Although her family moved to the Pacific Northwest, she never forgot her love for the land of enchantment.

The Courting of Alta Belle, the first book in the Odyssey West Quartet, was published by Tuxtails Publishing in June 2023.


Stephen L. Brayton

STEPHEN L. BRAYTON

Stephen L. Brayton is a Sixth Degree Black Belt in the American Taekwondo Association and a Marketing Associate for a software company.

He began writing as a child. During high school, he wrote for the school newspaper and was a photographer for the yearbook.

In college, he began a personal journal for a writing class; said journal is ongoing. He was also a reporter for the college newspaper.

He is the editor and contributing author of The Peace Tree Mystery, a story set in the Knoxville, Iowa/Lake Red Rock area. He has also been published in numerous anthologies of fiction, has poems in Lyrical Iowa 2018-2022, and an article in the Nov/Dec ‘23 issue of Plant Engineering.

His mystery novel, Alpha, was published by Tuxtails Publishing in July 2023.

LYV LAMERE

Lyv Lamere grew up in Germany and still lives there with her husband, their two cats, and her snake, even though they plan to relocate in the future.

Lyv successfully studied veterinary medicine and worked at a laboratory before following her other interest, which has her currently working as a contractor in the tech industry.

One day she found she had developed yet another passion – writing – and her first novel was completed sooner than expected.

Today she’s still working at her “day job,” but continues writing and hopes to bring a smile to people’s faces with her stories.

ELLIS NELSON

Ellis Nelson has served as an Air Force officer, government contractor, and teacher. She writes for children and young adults largely under the newly emerging category of visionary fiction. Living a military life allowed her to live in many areas of the US and abroad. She now calls Colorado home. She is a contributing member of the Visionary Fiction Alliance (VFA) with several published novels.

JOEL BRESLER

Author Joel Bresler was born in Cleveland, Ohio and educated at Skidmore College.  From his first published work, Letters to be Read in a Heavily British Accent to his most recent, Bottomless Cups, he has established himself as a humor writer with a unique voice.  Bresler delivers literary silliness in the tradition of such heavyweights as P.G. Wodehouse, Evelyn Waugh and Douglas Adams.   He can lately be found deep in the desert Southwest, dodging snakes, cactus spines and “dry” heat.

His humorous upcoming novel, Herman Nature, will be published by Tuxtails Publishing in May 2024.


CLAUDINE GRIGGS

Claudine’s fiction has appeared in Lightspeed, Escape Pod, Zahir Tales, New Theory, Leading Edge SF, Not a Pipe Publishing, Upper Rubber Boot Books, Mount Island, Ligeia, Flora Fiction, etc. Her story “Helping Hand” appears as an episode in season one of the Netflix series Love, Death & Robots.  Her first novel, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, was released on June 1, 2020, and a book-length story collection, Firestorm, was released on March 13, 2022. She has two nonfiction books out regarding trans/gender issues as well.

Claudine is a member of the Authors Guild and Science Fiction Writers of America.

C.S. FUQUA

C.S. Fuqua has worked as a reporter, editor, tutor, teacher, teacher aide, janitor, respiratory therapist, gas jockey, salesclerk, writing instructor, and more. He has been writing full-time since the mid-1980s and has published widely in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. His published books include The Bridge, Politics, Fatherhood, White Trash & Southern, Walking after Midnight, Big Daddy’s Fast-Past Gadget, Hush, Puppy! A Southern Fried Tale, and Native American Flute ~ A Comprehensive Guide, among others. DELAINE COPPOCK

Delaine grew up on the Pacific west coast of Canada and has written about this special part of the world for as long as she can remember. Delaine holds a Master’s Degree in Television Production from Bournemouth University (England) and an Honours Degree in Film and Media Studies and Biology from Stirling University (Scotland). She began her career working for Sony Computer Entertainment in London, England, excelling in Video Editing and Animation across award-winning PlayStation games. Delaine is an awarded independent film maker, and self-published author of The Queen’s Blood Saga. Delaine lives in BC, Canada, with her family, two pugs and very tolerant cat.

V.M. KERRY

V. M. Kerry has loved monsters since he was a kid. That’s why he started writing scary stories in the third grade: he wanted to spend more time with his monsters. He sold his first story to a classmate for a nickel. Since then, Kerry has published several scary books for grownups. He lives with his wife, two dogs (Penny Dreadful and Napoleon), and cat (Hercules) in the Alabama countryside. 

His middle grade novel, The Thirteenth Halloween, will be published by Tuxtails Publishing in September 2024.
